This page is your temporary index.html to provide you information on your page and how you will upload information to your site. Please read this page as it will be a help to you to gain ground information on how perform updates on html pages and how to download mail with your domain name. Virtual Domain Update: ********************************************* Please read the following information. 1. HOW TO UPLOAD TO YOUR DIRECTORY !!. *note:If you are using FrontPage98, skip to section b. Your url will be http://www.(yourdomainname).com **insert your domain name without the ( ) Your webpage must be ftp'd as an index.html (not .htm) file to your username directory. You will need a ftp program to upload your information to the server. We suggest cuteftp. You can obtain this for free at http://www.tucows.com . For mac use fetch. Obtain this at http://www.tucows.com . Using ftp: host = ftp.sisna.com initial remote = /(yourdomainname) **insert your domain name without the ( ) enter username and password. FrontPage 98 instructions* *To be able to connect to your FrontPage98 web, you have to request specificly to webguy@sisna.com that your website will be using FrontPage98, otherwise you will only be able to use a basic ftp program to upload. FrontPage 98 allows you to make webpages simply and easily with no html experience. When you edit content, the interface looks very similar to Microsoft Word. You never see the html coding behind the content you create, allowing you to concentrate on the content, not the coding. In order to connect with FrontPage98 Administrator, you will need to do the following: -Once online, open your FrontPage Program. A screen then opens called "getting started." -Click on more webs. -A new window opens called "Open FrontPage Web." -In the box called "Select a Web server or disk location" enter in the following information. http://www.domainname.com -Enter in your username and password. -You will see your directory come up in a split frame. Folders appear on the left and content on the right. By default you have a personal webdirectory set up automatically which you can easily edit in the FrontPage98 Editor. To do this, simply double click on index.html and edit away. -By becoming familiar with the FrontPage98 product, you will be able to create banners, scrolling marques, mouse-overs, form returns, and guestbooks. This will take some effort on your part. Best to purchase a book on FrontPage98 at your local bookstore. -If you are recieving the NTLM authentification error, you will need to have Client for Microsoft Networks installed in the Network Control Panel. Then you need to have Log onto Network checked in the Server Types of the SISNA Dial Up Networking Properties. If this does not solve the problem, reinstall the FrontPage98 program being sure you enter the proper username and password relevant to the domain login supplied by SISNA to your domain. -For more information of FrontPage98, go to http://www.microsoft.com/frontpage/ for the latest updates from Microsoft. If you are still having problems, e-mail webguy@sisna.com the following information: the URL for your web site and your username and password. 2. HOW TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL !!. Here are the instructions how to administer and download from the new imail server: All mail accounts are given 4 email addresses unless otherwise specified. To administer you account, the admin for your domain must contact webguy@sisna.com. They will be given admin rights for that domain mail, allowing them to add and delete users as needed. Note: Admins for all domains outside of Salt Lake City are the immediate Franchise Owners. Please contact them to add and delete users. Once their admin rights for their name has been granted in the server, simply go to: http://mail.(yourdomainname).com:8181/ enter your username and password (or default password of 1234). After you are in the system, you will be able to change you password. 1234 was simply chosen as a default. You can then click on user administration under host administration to be able to add new users. Click on add user and enter the username and password and be sure to click on save before returning to admin. Now go to your mail client (netscape mail, microsoft outlook, eudora pro, light) and go to the server settings. example in Netscape 4.0, go to edit, preferences, mail and groups, mail servers. make sure you have the following: smtp(outgoing mail) mail.(yourdomainname).com pop3 (incoming mail) mail.(yourdomainname).com pop3 username: johndoe so if i were kmm@kentmiles.com it would set up as so. smtp server: mail.kentmiles.com pop3 server: mail.kentmiles.com pop3 account: kmm Note: If you are trying to send and recieve mail from outside the SISNA system, it will not function. We have placed a block on our imail servers to avoid spammers from using the mail server from outside the system. You must be logged into a sisna modem to use the above settings. If you are logging into a lan network, please email webguy@sisna.com the your ip numbers. now send your self a test message and see if it functions!! 3. HOW TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL OVER A BROWSER - WEBBASED MESSAGING!! With the installation of the new imail server, all mail users now have the ability to read and send mail on a browser. What this means is you no longer have to use a mail program (netscape mail, outlook express, eudora) to view and send mail. The advantage of this is if you are on business out of state and do not have the ability to log into a sisna modem at your local franchise, simply go to any browser (netscape, internet explorer) and view your mail. Also instead of changing your friends settings on his computer to get your mail, now simply go to any browser and view, reply, and send mail. To view mail over a browser, go to http://mail.(yourdomain).com example http://mail.kentmiles.com enter your username and password Click on read mail. You then have the option to reply, forward, or delete the mail. You can see the mail size for each message by clicking on mail summary. Please always logoff the server properly by clicking on logoff. Remember you are reading the mail directly off the server. If you do not delete your messages, you will still be able to download them to your machine at home when you login with your normal mail program (netscape mail, outlook express, eudora). 4. WEB REPORTING * Deluxe and Premium Domains only You will have the abiltity to view numerous statistical reports generated by the webreports server. This will assist your company with the essential marketing data necessary to improve traffic to your site. Please read the following information on how to view your data. a. To view your report, click on the following address: http://webreports.sisna.com/virtual (replace virtual with your domain name) example: http://webreports.sisna.com/sisna b. You can check the activity of your virtual server website by clicking on the appropriate month from the standard web reports menu on the left hand side of the page. c. The web reporting process allows you to view all of the activity taking place on your website. The reports generated includes the number of people visiting your website, where they come from, and what pages interest them most. The data is generated through a log file on the web server that documents all activity on your domain. This is including, but not limited to the following: -The IP address or domain name of the visitors to your site -What pages are viewed -The files downloaded and the sizes -Any URL that referred to your site -Traffic Reporting The standard SISNAŽ report is generated daily and is compiled for each current month. After the month is over, you can see the monthly statistics for your website. This process starts over each month. However, none of the webreports are deleted. They are stored in a library for you to access at any time. Reports are generated at 3-6am, so if you wanted to view statistics for Friday, you will not be able to see that report until Saturday morning at 7am. d. If you are interested in other web reporting options, such as: -daily reports -weekly reports -advertising banner statistics -link analysis profiles -web report filters 5.
